The project at Concord International Elementary School turns an underused school field into a multi-use play space for both students and neighbors. With a mini-pitch field with play mounds, organically-shaped track, picnic overlook, and a hillside with play equipment, the space serves a community without much local public play and open space. A wood and steel arbor on the south side marks the main entry for students, and curving ramps and sloped paths ensure equal access for wheelchair users and bike riders. Kid-safe flowering, evergreen, and pollinator plants throughout create a natural and educational setting for the space.
