This street-end park on the east bank of the Duwamish is owned by SDOT, Seattle Parks, and the Port of Seattle. The park once featured a tram across the river and currently hosts the pump house for the Georgetown Steam Plant. The design effort requires special focus on community outreach, agency collaboration, and public funding cycles. The overall design features a large "heron" gathering area, an overlook mound, a stabilized shoreline, an updated streetscape with new parking and bioretention facilities, and an accessible route from the parking area to the shore. A temporary plant nursery was imagined and built with the Georgetown Youth Council using logs and donated plants.
