This first phase of a massive redevelopment replaced an aging 58-unit apartment complex with nearly 250 new ones. The added density of residents required a major upgrade in outdoor spaces, including clear and accessible site entries and circulation system, gathering and play areas, culturally-welcoming spaces, and a connection to the adjacent Pratt Park. The final build includes compelling entry experiences and a mixture of gathering, play, and bioretention areas set within a dynamic African pattern running through the site.
